On Sunday, I have not slept, but I am GEDU early with the wheel down in order to avoid the queues in front of the ship.

Die Queen ist ja immer noch Oberhaupt von Kanada und wird übrigens am Montag anreisen und am Dienstag die Schiffe inspizieren. 

Zurück zum Plan, diese Schiffe zu besichtigen. Der Plan ging auf: Zuerst war ich auf einem dänischen Schiff. Keine Schlange. So ein Marineschiff ist seeeehhhhrrrr groß. Soldaten in Uniform standen überall für Fragen zur Verfügung (bestimmt haben sie eigentlich nur aufgepasst, dass man nicht den markierten Bereich verlässt :-)  Der Blick auf die Stadt is also wonderful, because from this height and distance I could shoot beautiful photos.

Then I was on a Canadian warship. I once demanded: the Frauenantreil is about 10% for about 200 people on board. Of course, we all agreed that more women should be on board. I heard it as a reason that it would then perhaps smell better. Soso.

Then I was on a Canadian frigate, of Sackville, who served in World War II and was rebuilt in 1983 into a museum ship. Deutschland hat mit 4 zu 1 das Spiel gegen England gewonnen! Das erste Tor erfuhr ich von einem Kanadier, als ich gerade auf der Toronto, einem kanadischen Schiff war. Wir scherzten, dass ich auf keines der britischen Schiffe gehen sollte oder dort nichts sagen darf, um nicht anhand meines Akzentes als „Gegner“ identifiziert zu werden. (ehrlich gesagt, war ich auf keines britischen und amerikanischen Schiff, weil sie tatsächlich einen Sicherheitstor, wie am Flughafen aufgebaut hatten).

Gerade schaue ich das Spiel Deutschland gegen England. Die zweite Halbzeit ist nicht so spannend, deshalb kann ich nebenbei den Blog schreiben.... die erste Halbzeit war großartig. Ich finde ja, das England das zweite Tor hätte zugesprochen werden müssen. Am Ergebnis ändert das nichts. Der Ball war aber im Tor.
Lustig ist, dass das Spiel von Briten kommentiert wird. Dem Akzent nach zu urteilen. Und wie der Name Schweinsteiger ausgesprochen wird, einfach putzig. Bei Podolski kann man nicht viel anders , Say exactly when Klose. And the second goal of the Britons was repeated many times.

Membertou 400

On Saturday I met up with Sarah. Actually, we wanted one of the naval vessels that were the basis for inspection of Fleet Week open. Unfortunately, the queues were so long that we spontaneously decided against it. So we went to Membertou 400, a party of Indians in Canada. It was set up tents where food and other jewelry was sold. There were also many tipis to visit. The festival opened with a parade and speeches. In addition to the Indians in their traditional costumes were also a few Mounties, a soldier with a British flag and Canadian Soldiers with a Canadian flag. Sie stellten sich einem Wettbewerb, der in Geschlecht, Alter (bei den Ladies netterweise unterteilt in Junior, Senior und Golden Age :-) und Tanzstil unterschieden wurde. Schiedsrichter mit Bewertungsbögen in der Hand schauten mit ernsten Gesichtern zu. Manchmal tanzten nur vier, manchmal vierzig in einer Gruppe. Einmal mußte ein kleines Mädchen alleine antreten; sie weinte den ganzen Tanz herzzerreißend, ob ihre Mutter sie begleitete, andere Kinder später dazukamen und wir als Publikum auch viel klatschten und sie unterstützten. Hoffentlich sie Bonuspunkte bekommen.....

Wenn ich den Moderator richtig verstanden habe, wurde genau auf die Schritte geschaut. Die Tänze were practiced.
