Mit dem Linienbus ging es in die Stadt, Hostel gefunden, Gepäck eingeschlossen und los gings. Ich bin durch die Innenstadt gelaufen. Alles liegt sehr nah in Reichweite. Meine Tour begann am ByWardMarket:  Zuerst habe ich einen Beaverteil gegessen. Eine Art frittierter Fladen mit Zucker und Lime. Mmhhhhh. Unzählige kleine Läden durchzogen nicht nur eine Straße, sondern ein ganzes Viertel über number of roads. Interrupted by cafes, which often had a wooden terrace in front, can sit on the man. A student once said every building in English and once in French. It was the last tour 7:30 bis 09:00 clock, so everything was bathed in the warm light of sunset.

There is still a story out of my long weekend (Monday was a holiday in Nova Scotia): We drove to Cape Breton, that a few hours drive north of Halifax lies.

So we set off on Friday after work. Meanwhile, we have exercise is to find a campsite in the dark and set up the tent. We drove through New Glasgow, Antigonish to Port Hawkesbury and spent the night in Linwood. Port Hawkesbury is the nearest major city when the bridge was crossed to Cape Breton. So we could go along on Saturday at daylight, the west coast of the island and explore. We passed in Cheticamp Inverness and stopped to give us a Lobster Sandwich and a walk along the beach to rest. Earlier than expected, we reached our hostel on Pleasant Bay. It is situated between coastal and national park that is crossed by numerous trails. Many picnic areas overlooking the sea were on the highway. The highway is as big as a country road is wide, but has only one lane in each direction. The National Park is a so-called orbiting Highway Scenic Route and is named Cabot Trail. (By the way I live in Halifax in the street called Cabot Place :-)

Spontaneously we decided to make the last tour with one of the whale watching boat. It was great because we saw the sunset on the Rückweg.Und course we also saw whales. We were surprised how close they were. Nastasja had taken extra camera for zoom shots and I was so surprised by the whale in front of my nose (I was sitting in front of the boat) that he had not touched, but only stared at him. We then looked for a beach that was perhaps a little rocky, but visited less and rested.

About Ingonish along the east coast it was then back south to Baddeck. I really wanted in the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Planned such an early start was not, but we had a long drive home ahead of us. We had a lot of time, we went back on the east coast of Canso to Halifax. A very long, but beautiful coast tour. Canso is the way, from a museum and offers boat sailing on a small island. Unfortunately, the boatman had exactly the time when we stopped there for lunch. Sigh. By the way, was Cando on the distress signal of the sinking Titanic.

Tired, but back richer by a lot of impressions in the evening we went back to Halifax.
