Road trip from South Shore to North Shore weekend I was on a road trip. On Friday night we went. Friendly way, I got a Campingausrustung borrowed from a colleague. Sat in the car: from Nastasja bay (near Berlin), ie Germany, France, from Charlotte, Aline from France and me. We German front in the car, behind the other two girls. On Friday of each was collected. I was the last. Fast nor bought in the supermarket and food and then it started already. Our first stop was in or on Peggy's Cove. This is a lighthouse on the tip of the island. The photo I have already set yesterday in the blog. You know, this situation with the sun and sea in the background. We had fog and light rain. Therefore, unfortunately, no visible sunset. But it is exactly for this weather even lighthouses.
Next it went to the lighthouse along the sea route towards Lunenburg. A famous place, famous for its colorful wooden houses. Wunderbar.
The next morning Charlotte Nastasja and bathe in the sea. I was still too cold. The fire was rekindled, and there were pancakes for breakfast. For those who are now wondering how we did it: fire can burn down a bit, put a grid on the stones we have laid the fire, pan it and off you go. I have no idea what they have mixed the dough, because we had no spoons here (for a set of knives ;-)... but they tasted great. Pure, with Rasberrymarmelade or maple syrup. After the hearty breakfast the morning fog was gone and we had a wonderful view of the before us Port Mouton Insel.
Here in Canada we say "yummi. Just as it tasted. With bread, baby carrots .... simple, but incredibly good.
Afterwards we spontaneously jumped all four in the river in front of us. To cool and fun. We had to do neat to come against the flow back to our rest stop. And it was a little Flußausläufer ...
We went to Annapolis. There we stopped and looked at the fort. Green hills hide it built ammunition depots. The fort is from the French, the first settlers here were built. Standing on the hills still the old guns. And the sea laughs in the distance. In the village itself there are many small colored wooden houses, which are typical here. In many cases tourists are offered and sold. The day was already coming to an end, so we drove west along Digby on the extreme narrow island called Brier Iceland (not even my colleagues knew some of the island when I told them). We took the East Ferry and put on again in Freeport. In between, the island was so narrow that the sea water almost to the street on which we drove, swept. And nowhere in that even an outhouse. was any event, we could then decide difficult of which end of the island, we wanted to see the sunset. So we tried again from both, it was not of course 5 minutes drive time.
On Sunday we had a long way home. We made it really, the tents and to pack us within less than 20 minutes to get the hourly moving ferry. Gabs in the form of breakfast sandwiches / sandwiches / sandwiches on the ferry. This time we stopped in Digby, a Fishing. Painting the colored houses and colorful boats have to look at. We are in this part of the country went to see the tides. The boats were on land, at least 5 meters or more below the Portes. A loading was from there that is not possible at this time. In general, the rocky beaches were very low in water. from Parkers Cove we left the major road and drove directly to the sea. The view down to the sea is indescribably beautiful. Cove are the names for the small port towns. Indentations on the island edge. There are beaches in this part do not really just bricks and slopes. And every place says proudly, that it is the largest flow / tidal flooding has ...;-)
We stopped in Harbour Ville, one of the fishing villages. For tourists, there are always at least one restaurant and gift shop on site. There was a steak house. In the souvenir shop I asked about where you can buy a lobster sandwich. The girls really wanted to try lobster and the restaurant is very expensive. (I think you should eat fish at sea.'s Not fresh.) First they wrote me a phone number of fishermen in the hinterland, ultimately, the friendly woman with me gone from the store and opposite the fish market, the fact closed had gone. We are d gone directly to a fishing spot that was right there. He kept us meet several live lobster. To our protests that we do not know how to cook lobster, we got to hear from all sides that it was totally easy. Ultimately, we bought 2 and got a lobster cooking instructions. Thus, in the car were four girls from Europe and two in the trunk of lobster in a plastic bag. Fortunately, their blades were tied together. With the blades can break fingers so sharp they are.
Then we had no desire to go to the official road to the highway, then back to the sea in Hall's Harbour, Another stop on our list to return. So we took our jeep on sandy roads. Of course, these were not shown on my card (because these paths are passable only in summer) and of course not certain directions, which had given us the fishermen. Instead of the described crossing straight down - there was no straight way - we went to the left towards the sea and found a beach where locals enjoy the afternoon at a BBQ. Perfect for a picnic. We ate the leftovers from our fridge. Then it was back to Kentville and Wolfville to Halifax. Unfortunately, the strawberry season was over, so we any farm on the road stopped. During the season you can pick strawberries and blueberries myself and paid less than the store viiiieeeell dafuü. Too bad, because foods are very expensive. And the apple season is in October.
When I should be disposed of at home first, we were Martha, my landlord and roommate in his arms. We talked excitedly about our weekend and were proud of our Lobster. Since Martha has invited us to jointly prepare the lobster. How well that Martha has ever worked a summer in Maine on a lobster boat!
What PEI mean? Find out! I will resolve it next week. 'm Excited to read your comments.
