Primolut N To Delay Periods

Cape Breton

There is still a story out of my long weekend (Monday was a holiday in Nova Scotia): We drove to Cape Breton, that a few hours drive north of Halifax lies.
So we set off on Friday after work. Meanwhile, we have exercise is to find a campsite in the dark and set up the tent. We drove through New Glasgow, Antigonish to Port Hawkesbury and spent the night in Linwood. Port Hawkesbury is the nearest major city when the bridge was crossed to Cape Breton. So we could go along on Saturday at daylight, the west coast of the island and explore. We passed in Cheticamp Inverness and stopped to give us a Lobster Sandwich and a walk along the beach to rest. Earlier than expected, we reached our hostel on Pleasant Bay. It is situated between coastal and national park that is crossed by numerous trails. Many picnic areas overlooking the sea were on the highway. The highway is as big as a country road is wide, but has only one lane in each direction. The National Park is a so-called orbiting Highway Scenic Route and is named Cabot Trail. (By the way I live in Halifax in the street called Cabot Place :-)

Spontaneously we decided to make the last tour with one of the whale watching boat. It was great because we saw the sunset on the Rückweg.Und course we also saw whales. We were surprised how close they were. Nastasja had taken extra camera for zoom shots and I was so surprised by the whale in front of my nose (I was sitting in front of the boat) that he had not touched, but only stared at him. The few seconds before he went into hiding. A group came directly to us and zugeschwommen appeared in front of us under our boat. An incredible experience.

Back at the hostel we grabbed our Canadian Keith beer and made our way to the beach, along the cemetery through a forest. We were accompanied by Bryant from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was for a weekend in Halifax and Cape Breton also looked at himself. Him we could fast forward :-) We did not make it to the beach, because on the hill were several inviting wooden armchairs, from which one could see from wonderful sea and the beach. So we sat there, drank chatted about everything under the sun, watched the sea, assessed the stars ....

Sunday was marked by the Cabot Trail. The trail is just the way the road, no trail. I managed to persuade Nastasja tours to 2 little hiking. Hiking is my opinion does not understand what we go under, because the distances are much more original. Partly We did not know where the road goes on, and we are - gone byways - typical for us. Thus we have discovered a bay on the second tour (see photo left): the forest behind us and before us the rocky bay. We have descended to the water and have enjoyed the midday sun (the dip in the clear blue water was just too uncertain to us then :-). On the way back we looked through the trees on a cliff next to the nearby beach, which was full because of the beautiful weather. We then looked for a beach that was perhaps a little rocky, but visited less and rested.

About Ingonish along the east coast it was then back south to Baddeck. I really wanted in the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Bell, Scot who emigrated as a child with his parents in the U.S. (his two brothers died climate-related), had his summer residence, because the landscape reminded him of his childhood. He was involved in the invention of the telephone, and his assistant set up a battery accidentally wrong. Bell research and taught deaf people, motivated by his mother and his wife, a student Hemal, who were deaf and encouraged by his grandfather, who invented the alphabet for deaf people. The information was interesting, but there was simply too much to read and look a little.
say we are stumbled out of the museum, because we had forgotten to eat since breakfast in the hostel a bit. There was simply no snack available, where you could just order fish and chips. About six or less everything we wanted and not had to eat in the restaurant. Ultimately, we found a pizza shop, and Bryant the night before the hostel found us. He ate there too. So we had unfortunately miscalculated the time and had to find a place to sleep. We were just too tired to drive to the planned camp site. It was too far. Along the east coast we passed through towns with colorful names Orangedale and Malaga Watch and stopped at a lookout point at Marble Mountain, a tiny community. I looked directly at of us at sea a campground. There we made camp for the night and slept with ocean waves. By the way, the mosquitoes were not to be despised. I always feel that they are trying to eat me :-)

Monday was, unfortunately, we already woken up to 7 clock by car horns. A rancher drove us out of this park, only to picnic, was not intended to camp. Planned such an early start was not, but we had a long drive home ahead of us. So we could not make a breakfast on the campfire, but went out on a fishing places in a local bakery and had a regular breakfast nortamerikanisches with bacon, egg and toast. Yammi.
We had a lot of time, we went back on the east coast of Canso to Halifax. A very long, but beautiful coast tour. Canso is the way, from a museum and offers boat sailing on a small island. Unfortunately, the boatman had exactly the time when we stopped there for lunch. Sigh. By the way, was Cando on the distress signal of the sinking Titanic.

Tired, but back richer by a lot of impressions in the evening we went back to Halifax.
